Best nfl coaches ever

Here are the greatest NFL coaches of all time listed in alphabetical order. Tom Bettts, Atlanta Falcons. Bettts has compiled a stellar career coaching the Atlanta Falcons and they haven't missed the playoffs in 5 seasons. There is no doubt that he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame because he deserves it.

Tom Hanks, Raiders. Hanks is the best NFL coach of all-time for the Raiders. He was able to bring the raiders back from the dead in the Super Bowl. He also went on to earn a Super Bowl title with the Jets and Dolphins.

Bill Belichick, Patriots. The only NFL coach to have more than one Super Bowl title is Belichick. He has coached the Patriots to 3 conference championships, including the Super Bowl XLII. There is no doubt that he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

Vince Lombardi, Green Bay Packers. He has been involved in probably the most amazing finish in NFL history. He coached the Packers to a 13-game winning streak, two straight Super Bowls, and one overtime Super Bowl appearance. No wonder he is the best NFL coach of all-time.

Bill Polian, Tennessee Titans. One of the first coaches of the new modern era of NFL coaching, Polian led the all time team, the Titans, to an amazing Super Bowl victory over the hated Steelers. Amazingly, he was so confident that he named the offensive and defensive tackles, as well as the running backs the entire offense. All the offensive line and the defense were named after players that he had worked with during his playing days in the NFL.

George Halas, Chicago Bears. This is another one of the all time great coaches. He coached the Bears to their two Super Bowl appearances. Even though he suffered a horrible season in Chicago, he still managed to lead his team to the playoffs, where they were knocked out by the eventual winner, the Dallas Cowboys. As with Bill Belichick and Vince Lombardi, there is no doubt that Halas deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. He is currently on the short list of greatest NFL coach of all-time.

John Elway, Broncos. The last name of John Elway might be a little bit of a misnomer, seeing as how he was never a Bronco player. However, he is certainly a great coach, whom the Broncos have only had success playing for him. There are many coaches who deserve to be in the Hall of Fame of Football, but Elway is definitely one of them.

Chuck Pagano, Raiders. This guy might be out of his NFL career right now, but he will always be remembered as the mastermind behind the innovation of the Raiders offense. He coached some of the best players in the game at the time, which is something that no coach will ever do. There are few coaches in the history of the NFL that could get a group of young players and give them the same type of guidance that Pagano did. If he is given the honors, then he should be awarded the gold watch.

Tom Coughlin, Giants. This man deserves the credit for turning around the Giants after it seemed as if the team would go backwards practically the entire season. Coughlin is considered to be among the best coaches in the NFL not only because he coached a group of young men that never gave up, but also because he managed to get the team to a Super Bowl in his first two years. In fact, it may have been more shocking than even the Super Bowl itself. This is one coach that should be in the Hall of Fame.

Bill Belichick, Patriots. There is no way to argue with the greatness of this man. While Belichick has probably been fortunate with the personnel he has, he is still one of the best coaches of all time. He has developed a special group of receivers that have become New England's trademark, and he has developed some incredible young defensive players that could develop into the best of their best for the ages. It may be premature to crown Bill Belichick as the greatest coach of all time, but you can bet that he will always be remembered as the greatest of them all.

John Elway, Broncos. It was an interesting battle for the Super Bowl between the old guard in John Elway and the up-and-coming young guns in the Super Bowl. However, Elway proved to be the more cerebral Super Bowl coach, winning the hearts of fans everywhere with his vision and game play strategy. The same can be said for John Fox of the Bears, who guided the team to its second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons. These two coaches have a lot to prove with their trophies and awards, but they are certainly deserving of the titles they hold.

Of course, there are plenty of great coaches in the NFL who were never able to capture the rings that their teammates or Super Bowl appearances deserves. There are always great coaches out there who never won a championship for their teams and it is interesting to note the names of some of those coaches who failed to capture titles for their teams. Many fans feel that Terry Bradshaw falls into this category. However, he is the only Super Bowl coach to never capture a title with the Raiders and he did not reach Super Bowl XLII with the Steelers. He did, however, help guide the Raiders to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances and to this day, he is one of the most respected coaches in the game.
