Maradona and Pele

The debate on Maradona vs Pele is still going on. Both legends were great however which one was the greatest? Let's look at their highlights from their careers. The first time they met, these two greats was in 1979. The first meeting was friendly, but then their rivalries among Argentina and Brazil intensified and accusations of sabotaging one another flying. Which one was superior? We'll see.

Even with the different aspects of their styles and their legacy, Pele's was longer-lasting than Maradona's.

Additionally, Maradona played with less limitations, while Pele could freely move about. Therefore, it is difficult to compare two players is not easy. In reality, Maradona had more games than Pele which is why he was thought to be the superior player.

Although the controversy over Pele and. Maradona was a disputed person in football, FIFA avoided taking sides in the debate and sided to the former due to their old age.

Similar to this Pele's defenses were more effective at shooting than Maradona's. Maradona's ability to kick allowed him to be a more dangerous threat over Pele and he had a higher level of skill. Apart from being the most successful player of all time, Pele also shared the distinction of Footballer in the Century. In actual fact Pele was the sole player to score a higher quantity of points. However, Maradona who was the winner of his first World Cup in 1986, had the best goal-scoring record. Even though Pele's 76-year career was cut short by the draw, he's still considered to be the best ever.
