BIOGRAPH BY STEVE KERR

Steven Douglas Kerr was the fourth child in a four-child family. He was born in Beirut (Lebanon) on September 27, 1965. His father is Malcolm H. Kerr. His mother is Ann Zwicker.

Steve Kerr was born in Lebanon and has lived there since childhood. He attended many schools across several different countries. These were some of the schools he attended:

  • Los Angeles: The Palisades Charter High School

  • The American Community School (Beirut).

  • Cairo American College (Egypt).

Kerr's father was brutally murdered by the Shia Lebanese militia in January 1984. His father was president of American University of Beirut at the time. Kerr was 18 years old when his father died.

He began playing basketball for the University of Arizona in 1986. He was fortunate enough to play on the team that represented the United States at the FIBA World Championships. He was then injured and missed the entire season. After his injury was healed, he returned playing in 2002.

Steve Kerr is a leader with exceptional skills. He quickly rose to fame as a player. The Wildcats reached the Final Four in the NCAA Division I basketball tournament in 1988 thanks to Sean Elliot and Steve Kerr.

STEVE KERR'S CAREER

1. BEFORE YOU JOIN THE CHICAGO BULLS (1988-1993).

After the second round in 1988's NBA draft, he was officially signed by the Phoenix Suns. He played 26 games in his rookie season for the Phoenix Suns.

The Cavaliers then offered him a chance to play. Kerr played three seasons in Cleveland. After playing in 183 games (29 starts), Kerr moved to Orlando to join the Orlando Magic in 1992. After a year with the Orlando Magic, he moved to Chicago in 1993.


2. STEVE KERR'S CAREER WITH CHICAGO BULLS (1993-1998).

Kerr was a Chicago Bulls player in 1993. He later accompanied Michael Jordan. Before the 1993-94 season, this player signed with Chicago Bulls. He averaged 8.6 points and 2.6 assists per game.

Michael Jordan didn't play in most of the following two seasons. This is what prevented the Chicago Bulls from reaching the second round. With the return of Jordan, Steve Kerr led the Bulls to three consecutive NBA championships.

This player played a crucial role in the 1997 final. Kerr's score in game 6 was a result of a Jordan pass. The Bulls won 88 to 86. The match was still only 5 seconds long. Kerr was a Bulls player for seven years, winning three rings in 1996 1997 and 1998.

3. HIS POST-BULLS COURSE

Kerr was awarded the 1998 NBA championship title. He then moved to San Antonio Spurs in Jan 1999. He won his fourth NBA championship title with the San Antonio Spurs. Steve Kerr was the first NBA player to not play for the Celtics in the 1960s and to win four consecutive titles.

Steve Kerr joined the Portland Trail Blazers after leaving the San Antonio Spurs in July 2001. During the 2001-2002 season, he played 65 games with the Portland Trail Blazers.

After playing for the Portland Trail Blazers in August 2002, he was back with the Spurs. This team was his home for the remainder of his professional career. Kerr was instrumental in helping the Spurs defeat the Mavericks to win the 2003 final.

Kerr was awarded his fifth NBA championship. Kerr was a regular-season player in 910 games over his NBA career. Kerr was a professional basketball player who won five rings.

4. STEVE KERR’S CAREER POST-RETIREMENT

Kerr was a former NBA player and became a Turner Network Television commentator. He worked alongside Marv Albert at that time.

From 2007 to 2010, he was the general manager for the Phoenix Suns. The Phoenix Suns were able to go 155-91 (63.1%) in the end. Kerr was elected president and general manager of Phoenix Suns in June 2010. The years passed. His coaching career began in May 2014.

He was named Head Coach for the Golden State Warriors. His coaching career was wildly successful. Kerr was the first rookie head coach to win the most regular-season games in NBA history.


He has three titles as Warriors head coach, in 2015, 2017 and 2018. In 2016, Steve Kerr was named NBA Coach of Year. In 2016, Steve Kerr was named NBA Coach of the Year. He also became the NBA All-Star Game's head coach in 2015 and 2017. Kerr led the Warriors' to at least 67 wins in three consecutive seasons.
